Our Story
Thrive Recovery was founded in 2025 by Destiny York as a private practice and is focused on tele-mentalhealth services primarily through synchronous and asynchronous modalities. Destiny York has worked in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field since 2019. Destiny has focused on individuals that have been court ordered through a multitude of programs including drug courts, child protective services, and youth courts. This experience allowed Destiny to discover a passion to help individuals who are being required to seek treatment and communicate in ways to overcome the current moment with expansion options available in the future.
The Scope of Our Work
Providing clinical resources through Tele-mentalhealth to justice involved individuals primarily in rural areas with limited access to transportation and/or local treatment locations. We are overcoming these barriers through memorandums of understanding with court systems, justice departments, and other government entities servicing their local communities. If the level of care recommended upon completion of clinical assessment is not available through Thrive Recovery, we are happy to support in offering referrals.

Destiny York
MS, LPC, NCC
My name is Destiny York and I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree at Mississippi College in Psychology and continued to earn my Masters of Science degree at Walden University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi. I have worked in Mental Health Services for six years primarily focused on justice involved individuals and substance abuse.

I believe in helping others through growth and personal development focusing on their goals and meeting them where they are to provide that support. No matter the race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, my objective is to provide a safe and welcome environment for the client to feel heard as they navigate through the challenges of life events. I do provide LGBTQ+ affirming services.
My practice focuses on providing clinical resources for individuals who have found themselves in situations answering to the justice system. This may include any level of criminal charges, child protective services cases, or civil cases. As a result of these situations, I am prepared to support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief or loss, trauma, addiction, and life transitions. The services provided include clinical assessments where I am able to provide the client and referral source, a recommendation for the level of care, and potential diagnosis based on an initial intake assessment. I am also able to provide services based on availability for Anger Management Groups, Parenting Groups, Relapse Prevention Groups, and Individual Therapy and Family Therapy sessions.
As the wife of a college football coach, I enjoy spending my time supporting his career and being a mother staying busy with their activities. For my self-care, I enjoy to escape with my husband, when possible, for date nights with good food along with getting tattoos and traveling when possible. I am passionate about helping others so I take pleasure in finding opportunities as much as I can to increase my knowledge and skill set to help others along their journey.
